- Captains Paul and Randy worked to right a capsized boat at Santa Cruz Island in a gale warning. The boat, a 21 foot Proline, was upside down and floating near Scorpion Anchorage. When Paul and Randy arrived on scene the Santa Ana conditions made that area too difficult to work in so they towed the partially submerged vessel to Potato Anchorage where they were able to right and dewater it. The boat was then towed to Santa Barbara Harbor where it was left on the Harbor Patrol dock until the mariners could arrive to put it on the trailer. The four persons who had been aboard the vessel when it capsized ended up having to stay the night on the island until they could get a ride across the channel with Island Packers. (PHOTO)
