02/02/07
  • Captain Randy towed Kortship, an Ericson 30, from Santa Barbara Harbor to Anchor's Way Marine. Retriever was the tow boat.
02/03/07
  • Lottie One, a 25 foot Uniflite, suffered battery failure just outside Santa Barbara Harbor and called Vessel Assist for some help. The boat was transiting from Channel Islands Harbor to Santa Barbara when the failure occurred. It was Captain Tom and Retriever who went to the rescue.
02/04/07
  • Captain Tom responded to the Formula Speed Boat out of fuel near Santa Cruz Island. The boat needed a tow back to Santa Barbara Harbor so that the mariner could get home in time to see the Super Bowl. Retriever was the tow boat.

  • Xanadu, lost a belt while fishing near Chinese Harbor, Santa Cruz Island, calling Vessel Assist for a tow back to Ventura Harbor. Captain Paul and Maverick responded to the incident.

  • 24 foot Sea Ray, Key Largo, suffered outdrive failure while fishing near Anacapa Island. The mariner called Vessel Assist for a tow and waited until Captain Paul finished up with Xanadu and put some fuel in Maverick, and flew back out to the island. The destination for the disabled boat was Ventura Harbor.

  • Captains Jason and Bev moved 32 foot Grand Banks trawler, Mollie Brown, to Ventura Harbor Boatyard for engine installation. Retriever was the tow boat.

  • It was a 38 foot Mediterranean that required the attention of Captains Jason and Paul. The boat was towed to Anchors Way Boatyard by Retriever.

  • Captain Jason, onboard Retriever, brought Kyrstin Dawn back to Ventura after an engine malfunctioned near Arco Island. Retriever was the tow boat.

  • Captains Bev and Jason took the 38 foot Mediterranean parked on the Anchors Way docks back to its slip in Ventura West Marina. Retriever was the tow boat.

  • Captain Randy delivered hardhat divers to the outfall buoys off of Channel Islands Harbor. The divers deployed cameras and made a survey of the condition of the buoys. Assist Channel Islands was the tow boat.

  • Captain Randy and Assist Channel Islands went to the rescue of Amberjack, disabled out of Channel Islands Harbor.
02/12/07
  • Querida, a 48 foot powerboat, lost an engine off Point Dume on a voyage to Marina del Rey. The boat managed to limp back to Channel Islands Harbor and Captain Randy and Assist Channel Islands then towed them to Marina del Rey.

  • Captains Bev and Jason towed Trinity, a Pearson 36 sailboat, back to its slip in Ventura Isle Marina. Retriever was the tow boat.

  • Mahalo, an Ericson 35, was disabled outside of Ventura Harbor and in need of assistance. Captains Jason and Paul responded on Retriever.

  • Captain Randy towed Ara-Worry to Anchors Way Boatyard from its slip. Retriever was the tow boat.
02/16/07
  • Captain Paul responded to the Radon 27, Serena, disabled off the frontside of Santa Cruz Island. Maverick was the tow boat.

  • Union Jack, a Skipjack 27, lost battery power while at Prisoner's Anchorage, Santa Cruz Island. Captain Randy and Retriever went to the rescue, towing the boat back to Ventura Harbor.

  • Captains Bev and Jason moved Reliant, a 37 foot sailboat, from its slip in Ventura West, to Ventura Harbor Boatyard and then back again after an engine installation. Retriever was the tow boat.
02/21/07
  • Captains Bev and Jason used Retriever to move a 26 foot Radon from its slip in Ventura Isle Marina to Anchors Way Boatyard.

  • Captains Jason and Bev conducted a memorial at sea outside Ventura Harbor. Maverick was the memorial platform.

  • Captain Randy ran all the way to Point Conception to deliver fuel to a 28 foot Tolleycraft. The fuel delivery was not successful so the boat was towed back to Anchors Way Boatyard in Ventura Harbor. It was after 4 am by the time Randy and Retriever delivered the boat to the safety of the harbor.

  • Captain Jason ran the late night case, towing Reel Steel, back to a slip in Ventura Isle Marina. Maverick was the tow boat.

  • Captain Randy towed Mollie Brown, a 38 foot trawler, from Ventura Harbor Boatyard to a slip in Ventura West Marina. Retriever was the tow boat.
02/25/07
  • Snooky, a 24 foot cuddy cabin powerboat, disabled near Anacapa Island asked a good samaritan to issue a call for assistance to Vessel Assist. The boat apparently had no radio on board and no cell phone reception. Captain Randy, onboard Assist Channel Islands, responded towing the boat back to Channel Islands Harbor.

  • A 24 foot Skipjack, named Sea Camel, called Vessel Assist for a tow back in to Ventura Harbor. The boat was disabled near Anacapa Island. Captain Randy and Retriever were the rescue team.
02/26/07
  • Captains Bev and Paul moved a 37 foot Owens from a slip in Ventura Isle Marina to Ventura Harbor Boatyard. Maverick was the tow boat.

  • Captains Bev and Paul moved Islander 36, Wind in the Willows, from a slip in Ventura Isle Marina to Anchors Way Boatyard. Retriever was the tow boat.

  • Captain Randy had his work cut out for him, he rescued a 28 foot Tolleycraft, Allison Marie, from just outside Ventura Harbor and towed it to Long Beach, an 18 hour case. The Small Craft Advisory was no help, it made conditions slow going for the long tow. Ventura was reporting wind gusting to 50 knots as Randy, Retriever, and tow, were leaving the harbor.

  • Captains Jason and Paul moved a 30 foot Chriscraft from a slip in Ventura Isle Marina to Ventura Harbor Boatyard. Retriever was the tow boat.

  • Captains Randy and Paul moved a 41 foot Roughwater, School's Out, from a slip in Ventura West Marina to Anchors Way Boatyard. Retriever was the tow boat.
