- It was an early morning call for the raising of the Owens 33 in Mandalay Bay. Captain Paul suited up and got in the water to attach flotation bags to the boat, and Jason was tasked with equipment organization on the docks, running the compressor, the hooka system, and organizing the flotation bags and lift gear. By noon the boat was high and dry, and being towed by Paul and Jason to Anchor's Way Boatyard for haulout and disposal. (PHOTO 1) (PHOTO 2) (PHOTO 3)
- In order to make room for the dredge, Azimut 55, Ellie Rose, was moved from the main fairway in Ventura Harbor, to a slip in Ventura Isle Marina. Assist Ventura was the towboat, Captain Bev was the tow captain and Captain Paul was deckhand. Butterdog was customer service, as usual. (PHOTO 1) (PHOTO 2)

- A 15 foot Caribe, disabled at the Harbor Patrol dock in Channel Islands Harbor, called for assistance. Captain Tom was on call and was dispatched on the case, but it was a stand down by the time he arrived. The mariner had found someone to tow him to the launch ramp so Tom returned to base.
- The Pancho, a 21 foot Striper, lost its engine in the Anacapa Passage. Unfortunately, due to procrastination, the mariners had not purchased a Vessel Assist membership prior to going out, so the towing bill was paid out of pocket. The father of the vessel owner reported "I told him to get Vessel Assist. It's a sore subject around here." It was Captain Tom, on Assist Channel Islands who went after them.

- A Uniflite 36 needed to go from one slip in Mandalay Bay to another. It was Captain Kris, on Assist Channel Islands, who ran the case.
- Ellie Rose went to Ventura Harbor Boatyard for reinstallation of her props. It was Captain Bev, Captain Paul, and Butterdog, on Assist Ventura, who towed the boat.
- Captain Kris moved the 34 foot CHB trawler from Ventura West Marina to Ventura Harbor Boatyard, and back. It was hauled out at the boatyard for a survey. Assist Ventura was the tow boat.
- Retriever goes back in the water with her new house in place! With Retriever back on the docks, and close by the office, the project can move forward. We're looking forward to the day when she returns to work fulltime so Assist Ventura can haul out for installation of new engines. (PHOTO 1) (PHOTO 2)
- Hugin, a Meridian 26, was disabled in Channel Islands Harbor, needing to go back to its slip. Captain Kris was the captain, Assist Channel Islands was the tow boat.
- Captains Bev and Paul moved Sojourn from its slip in Ventura Isle Marina to Anchor's Way Boatyard. Assist Ventura was the tow boat.
- No Bad Days, a Hatteras 55, was towed from Channel Islands Harbor to Ventura Harbor. It was Captains Kris and Paul, on Assist Ventura, who did the tow. (PHOTO)
- Bayliner 26, Outlet 2, disabled near Platform Gina with a fouled prop, called for help. Captain Kris responded on Assist Channel Islands, towing the boat back to Channel Islands Harbor.
- A haulout for a survey was the reason for the tow for Main Course. The C & L 47 trawler went from its slip in Anacapa Isle Marina to Channel Islands Boatyard. It was Captains Bev and Paul, on Assist Channel Islands who did the tow.
- An Anderson 26 named Amberjack, disabled in position N 33 59, W 119 38 (Yellow Bluff, Santa Cruz Island), called for assistance from Vessel Assist. Captain Kris, on Assist Ventura, responded but before he could get halfway to the scene the mariner was able to get his water pump repaired, and it ended up being a stand down.
- After a refit in Anchor's Way Boatyard, Canicula, a Pearson Triton, went back into the water and needed a tow home, to its dock in the Ventura Keys. It was Captains Bev and Paul, on Maverick, who escorted the boat home.
- Captains Bev and Paul, on Assist Channel Islands, towed a 19 foot Cobalt from Port Hueneme Harbor to Channel Islands Harbor launch ramp. The Coast Guard had assisted the vessel the previous day, but since conditions were too rough to enter any of the harbors except Port Hueneme, the boat was left there until conditions abated, and Vessel Assist could tow the boat for the owner.
- Captains Bev and Paul, on Assist Ventura, moved First Edition, a 32 foot Luhrs, from its slip in Ventura Isle Marina to Anchor's Way Boatyard.
- Captain Kris, on Assist Channel Islands, moved a Uniflite 36 to a new homeslip in Mandalay Bay, Channel Islands Harbor.
- Dive boat Vision splashes at Ventura Harbor Boatyard! Captain Paul, along with Captain Bev and Butterdog, assisted with moving the big boat from the ways to an adjacent slip. It was blowing 20 knots so the experience was a nailbiter, but no small boats were injured during this manuever.
- Captains Paul & Bev, on Assist Channel Islands, moved a 32 foot Carver from a slip in Bahia Cabrillo Marina, Channel Islands Harbor, to the Channel Islands Boatyard where it will undergo engine repair.
- Sanbar, a Catalina 27, went from its home slip in Ventura Isle Marina to Ventura Harbor Boatyard. Captain Bev was the captain and Assist Ventura was the boat.
- It was the scattering of ashes that took Captain Bev, and the family of the deceased, offshore on Maverick. Butterdog went along for moral support.
- Captain Paul, on Assist Channel Islands, went to the aid of the mariner disabled in the shipping lanes. The boat was towed to Channel Islands Harbor.
- The afternoon low tide claimed a victim at the Ventura Harbor launch ramp. After launching their boat the unlucky mariners were unable to retrieve their trailer since the wheels had gone off the concrete at the end of the ramp. Captain Paul suited up in his wetsuit and went in to the cold water to sort out the problem. After several attempts, and the assistance of Captain Curtis from the Sneaky Pete along with Officer Higgins of the Ventura Harbor Patrol, the trailer was liberated and the mariners were on their way.
- Truant, a Chriscraft 47, was assisted into Channel Islands Harbor by Captain Kris on Assist Channel Islands.
- Captains Tom and Sean stood by on Maverick, as safety boat, for the ocean swim portion of the Strawberry Fields Triathlon in Channel Islands. The guys were there to assist in the event of an emergency.
- Sevillana, a 36 cat ketch, lost engine power just outside Ventura Harbor. Captains Bev and Paul, on Assist Ventura, went to the rescue, towing the boat back to its slip in Ventura West Marina, Phase II.
- Popeye, a Skipjack 25, lost power just inside the detached breakwall at Channel Islands Harbor. Captain Kris, on Assist Channel Islands went to the aid of the disabled mariners.
- Captains Bev and Paul, on Assist Ventura moved Trinity, a 36 foot Pearson, from Ventura Isle Marina to Anchor's Way Boatyard.
- The disabled mariners on Idle Time had some idle time on their hands while awaiting assistance from Vessel Assist. The Maxxum 27 suffered engine failure on the way out of the harbor, ruining a day of fishing. The mariners on board kept a sense of humor in spite of the setback and vowed to try again another day - with a new set of batteries. It was Captains Bev and Paul, on Assist Channel Islands who responded to the call.
- Wainui went to Anchor's Way Boatyard for some attention, and then back to its slip afterward. It was Captains Bev and Paul, on Assist Ventura, who tackled the challenge in the surgy conditions.
- Pacific Player, a 47 foot Chriscraft sportfisher, went from its slip in Channel Islands Harbor Marina, to Channel Islands Boatyard for an engine pull. Captain Paul was the master who finessed the big boat into the ways at the boatyard with the little single screw towboat, Assist Channel Islands.
- Captain Kris responded to the call for assistance from Bumpy, a Stratus 21, disabled in position 33 58.5 N, 119 30.65 W, towing the boat into Ventura Harbor. Assist Ventura was the tow boat.
- Price Tide, a 135 foot Tidewater Marine workboat, was moved from the ways to an adjacent slip by the deft hand of Captain Paul on Assist Ventura. Captain Bev was deckhand, and Butterdog and Veda went along as customer service.
- Captains Bev & Paul, on Assist Channel Islands, moved a 26 foot Islander, named Moonlighter, to a new slip in Anacapa Isle Marina, Channel Islands Harbor.
