- 52 foot commercial fishing vessel, Joyce, called Vessel Assist for help with a fouled prop. The boat had become entangled with its own fishing gear and was stuck to the bottom and unable to break free. Captain Randy was diapatched to dive on the boat and cut the line from the wheel. Retriever was the vessel used by Captain Randy.
- Carolyyn, a 22 foot Catalina, suffered engine failure in position N 34:18.72, W 119:23.92 and called Vessel Assist for a tow. Captain Randy, onboard Retriever, responded, towing the boat to a slip in Ventura West Marina.
- Captain Randy dived on Brusco Tugboat, Huenema Spirit, to clear the through-hulls and inspect the propellor.
- Captain Randy and Retriever moved Lapworth 24, 2 Carat, from Anchors Way Boatyard to a slip at Ventura West Marina.
- Captain Randy and Retriever moved Diveboat Peace from Ventura Harbor Boatyard to the fuel dock for a load of fuel and then back to a slip at the Ventura Harbor Village Marina.
- Pastor Jack, a 24 foot Radon, suffered engine failure inh position N 34:25.311, W 119:56.667. Captain Jon and Retriever were dispatched to assist the vessel back to Santa Barbara Harbor.
- Gazela, a 29 foot Proline, ran out of fuel in position N 33:56.76, W 119:58.19, calling Vessel Assist for some help. Captain Tom, onboard Retriever, responded and boat was towed to Santa Barbara Harbor.
- West Wight Potter, Esterfania, suffered engine failure near the west end of Anacapa on 3/8/08 and was towed by Coast Guard to the Channel Islands Harbor Patrol dock. Captain Paul, onboard Assist Channel Islands, was dispatched the following day to tow the boat to a slip in Ventura Isle Marina.
- Double LL, a CHB 46, suffered engine failure outside the Ventura Harbor entrance. Captain Paul and Assist Channel Islands responded to the disabled vessel, towing it to a slip at the Ventura Yacht Club.
- Captain Randy and Assist Channel Islands towed Sierra Mar, a 21 foot powerboat with engine failure, from position N 34:26.302, W 120:30.793 to Santa Barbara Harbor.
- Double LL went from the Ventura Yacht Club to Anchors Way Boatyard for haulout and repair. Captain Jason and Retriever were dispatched to tow the boat.
- Hakuna Matata was towed from Anacapa Marine Services to Vintage Marina by Captain Randy and Assist Channel Islands.
- A 17 foot Boston Whaler with steering loss in the Ventura Keys was towed to the Ventura launch ramp by Captain Paul and Retriever.
- A BMW rollled down the Ventura launch ramp and into the water when its operator decided to stop to admire the stars. Lynn's Heaving Hauling brought a flatbed tow truck and Captain Randy dove on the car to attach the towline. The vehicle was removed from the water and delivered to a repair facility.
- Captain Randy and Assist Channel Islands towed 40 foot Searay, Dulce, to Anacapa Marine Services.
- Captain Randy was dispatched to assist Jade Dragon a 45 foot sailboat disabled at the pumpout station in Ventura Harbor.
- Black Jack, a 28 foot Chriscraft, was towed from Ventura West Marina to Ventura launch ramp by Captain Randy and Retriever.
- Captain Paul, on Retriever, towed the dredge pipe for Manson Construction in Ventura Harbor.
- Cheoy Lee 30, Spray, went from a slip in Anacapa Isle Marina, to Anacapa Marine Services. Captain Randy and Assist Channel Islands did the tow.
- Captain Jason and Jon salvaged the Schock 30 sailboat aground near Point Mugu. Retriever was the salvage boat.
- Bold Venture, a Jensen 30, was towed from the Harbor Patrol dock in Channel Islands Harbor to Anacapa Marine Services by Captain Randy and Assist Channel Islands.
- Yaki - Ma, a 21 foot Radon, overheated in position N 34:01.001, W 119:30.4 and called Vessel Assist for a tow to Ventura launch ramp. Captain Randy and Retriever were dispatched.
- Top Secret, a Luhrs 28, lost its engine near Channel Islands Boatyard calling Vessel Assist for a tow. Captain Jon and Assist Channel Islands responded to the incident.
- Arima 18, Sea Ranger, called for a tow when it suffered engine failure in position N 34:01.387, W 119:26.168. Retriever and Captain Randy were dispatched and safely towed the boat to the Ventura launch ramp.
- Silent Running, a 28 foot trimaran, suffered a broken rig in position N 34:31, W 120:37. Captain Randy and Retriever were dispatched, towing the boat to Santa Barbara Harbor.
- A Bayliner 35 ran out of fuel in position N 34:12, W 119:18.5 calling for a fuel drop. Captain Paul and Maverick were dispatched with 10 gallons of gas to get the boat on its way back to Ventura.
- Catalina 34, Gusty Lady, suffered an overheated engine outside Ventura Harbor. Captain Paul and Maverick went to their assistance, towing the boat to Ventura West Marina.
- Irish Eyes, a 40 foot Stevens, was towed from Anchors Way Boatyard to Bahia Cabrillo Marina in Channel Islands Harbor. Captains Randy and Jason, onboard Assist Channel Islands, were the towing team.
- High Velocity, a 36 foot Wilson, went from the Harbormaster dock in Channel Islands Harbor to Channel Islands Boatyard. Captains Paul and Randy, onboard Assist Channel Islands, were the towing team.
- Captain Randy and Retriever moved sailboat, Old Glory, from a slip in the Ventura Village Marina to Ventura Harbor Boatyard.
- KH Tibits, a custom 40 footer, lost its rudder in position N 33:51.2, W 118:50.7. Captain Randy and Assist Channel Islands were dispatched, towing the boat back to Channel Islands Harbor.
- Caroline, a 55 foot sailboat, was moved from a slip at Ventura Harbor Boatyard to the haulout. Captain Jason and Retriever did the move.
- A fire onboard a powerboat in Ventura Isle Marina turned into a disaster for its neighbor boat, a sailboat named Belle de Mer. The fire destroyed both boats and Captains Paul and Jason worked all day to stabilize the boats and prevent a hazardous spill. Paul and Jason recovered the wreckage, attached flotation bags and towed the hulks to the boatyard for removal from the water. Retriever was the salvage boat.
- A 20 foot Aquasport lost its starter near Point Mugu and called for some assistance from Vessel Assist. Captain Tom and Assist Channel Islands responded, towing the boat back to the launch ramp in Channel Islands.
- Captains Paul and Randy, onboard Retriever, rescued an 11 foot Seadoo that had run aground near the power plant between Channel Islands and Ventura Harbors. The PWC was towed to the Ventura launch ramp.
