Fleet
| Retriever |
Retriever is a 30 foot ex-military RIB. The hull was
manufactured by Nautica and saw some government service
prior to coming to work for Vessel Assist, we’ve even
found shell casings in her bilge. Originally designed
for over-the-horizon deployment from military aircraft,
her hull is an extremely durable kevlar composite.
With twin Cummins 210 horsepower diesels Retriever is
capable of 30 knots, and at over 12,000 pounds she's
a stable platform for carrying out our work.
|
| Maverick |
Maverick, the newest addition to the fleet, is a 7.8
meter Ribcraft Mitigator. Capable of over 45 knots,
she is a quick response vessel and has proven she's
not just a pretty face in a stable of workboats.
She's done long tows (over 12 hours), has assisted
on salvages and has even been the platform for a
memorial at sea. Look for adventure rides on this
RIB in 2007, as well as rough weather handling
instruction.
|
| Assist Ventura |
| Assist Ventura is a 1966 Owens Brigantine, twin diesel, 33 feet long. She’s seen service as a Vessel Assist boat for many years, serving the former owners as well as the current. She’s stout, seaworthy and a good sight to see coming at you when you’re disabled in the water. She’s been modified to enable her to do her job as a salvage vessel as well as a tow boat, and carries specialized equipment and electronics, along with towing gear. Ventura is currently undergoing a repower and should be back in service by the end of the year with two fresh new diesel engines. |
| Assist Channel Islands |
Assist Channel Islands has a long history of
service with Vessel Assist. She’s a Baja 28,
single screw diesel boat, stationed in Channel
Islands Harbor. We’ve accomplished some impressive
feats with this tough little boat, she’s capable
and trustworthy with good fuel economy and we hope
to see her remain in service for many years to come.
